Climate Catalyst
Inspiration
We live in an area with turbulent weather massively affected by global warming and resource pollution. We decided that a change has to be made and we weren't gonna wait for one. This led to the intent and inspiration behind our website
What it does
It houses Articles that bring awareness about climate change from world renowned reporters It showcases the necessity to bring change in our routine and habits just to bring about a small yet not inconspicuous impact on the climate
How we built it
The website is built on a vanilla-js framework using Vite We added multiple features including animejs for wonderful and aesthetically pleasing UI.UX
Challenges we ran into
Considering that this is the first time our team is applying for a Hackathon on this platform we ran into multiple issues in our project, worrying about the presentation and user-experience of the website
we also had many problems in identifying the perfect way to bring awareness to the issue of climate change
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We can finally show to the world our impact on changing pollution and global warming and climate change
This is the first website we've made that looks and feels like it was made professionally
What we learned
We learned how to use animejs to achieve the perfect staggering effect The necessity to fix climate change How unaware the common public are about the true situation of this planet
What's next for Climate Catalyst
We plan on upgrading the website to the famous MERN stack and add a realtime article addition feature
