Inspiration

Individual actions matter when it comes to the planet. My idea is to forge this fact into Monday workspace, and make pro-planet actions a first class citizen of every day work routine.

What it does

As a Monday user you can do a personal assessment on possible actions you can take to make a positive change to the planet.

As a team and an organisation on Monday, you can see statistics of assessments. As an individual you can benchmark yourself against your team/company average.

How we built it

The questions are based on the 55 Climate Actions initiative(licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0), which is driven by an international community of experts. The assessment is categorised by themes, all actions contain an illustration, description, and a link to an exhaustive description.

My app allows you to add a board view to your workspace, where you can either fill assessment, or see statistics. The app is storing data in the Storage API. It is using Vibe Design System for the UI.

Challenges we ran into

The app development was a quite straightforward process, I was able to get foundation of my UX up running in Monday quite quickly. I see two challenges on the horizon:

  • I'm not entirely happy with the way how I store and process the data. It is not effective performance-wise. The storage is global,, while I would prefer to store some data private to the user.
  • Lack of global view for the app, I would like to show my app in a context not associated with any board.

What we learned

Vibe design system, 55 Climate Actions

What's next for Climate Aligned

I'm curious how the statistic would look like globally, and if it would make sense to present benchmarks to individuals, teams, and companies.
