Inspiration

Anabelle is a co-head of our school's environmental action committee, so it seemed fitting that we follow the climate-change prompt as she already had some ideas for school. We took some of her ideas and made them into a website that we coded ourselves in HTML.

What it does

Our website contains brief summaries of seven different environmental organizations, two pages we wrote ourselves on awareness and how to live a green lifestyle, and a clean-the-ocean game we made in Scratch.

How we built it

We used HTML to build the website and Scratch to make the video game.

Challenges we ran into

At one point, the navigation bar on our website completely stopped working, so it took over an hour to fix. We eventually found the problem, and now it functions better than ever. More generally, we used repl, a web-based text editor, so our code often disappeared when the WiFi cut out.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Though we ran into many bugs on the way, our website turned out better than any of us had ever hoped, and though the information it contains is minimal, the website and video game are fully functional.

What's next for Climate 4 All

We hope to continue to expand our database in the future and add other important resources to its bank.
