ClimaCare is inspired by the urgent need to address the uncertainty that changing climate conditions bring to medical care. As extreme heat becomes more frequent and severe, the same patient, medications, and care plan can carry different risks depending on the environmental conditions around them. Yet climate information and patient health information are rarely connected within everyday care workflows. ClimaCare bridges that gap. Our solution is a hybrid AI tool that synthesizes real-time and forecasted weather conditions with patient-specific information—including age, medical conditions, and medications—to identify potential heat-related vulnerabilities and provide timely, evidence-backed alerts to care staff. Rather than replacing clinical decision-making, ClimaCare helps facilities anticipate climate-related risks, understand why a patient may be vulnerable, and take action before conditions become dangerous. Our vision is a future where climate conditions are treated as a routine part of patient safety and care.
