Clim8

A simplistic website that approaches the harmful effects brought on by the recent trend of climate change and what the general public, who want to chose to make a difference, can do about it.

Inspiration

There is no visually appealing website currently to preach the cause of climate change, most websites are contain a lot of text and statistics throughout the website making it boring and dull. I think a less wordy website with more visual appeal will garner more attention to the cause!

What it does

Informs the users the damage caused by climate change listing out the factors that contribute to it and what a user can do to contribute to lessen this damage. It also contains a login page for users willing to join as a volunteer for the company.

How we built it

It is built on VSCode using HTML and basic CSS and Javascript styling along with authentication integration by SAWO labs.

Challenges we ran into

Setting up and using environment variables for API keys

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Being able to learn and integrate new software in the development of this website!

What we learned

Pushing updates to github repo in the terminal, using SAWO , and basic video editing

What's next for Clim8

Integrating twilio and courier into the website to send notifications to the user.
