Inspiration
We got inspiration from MineSweeper, but had a desire to create something new and easy-to-use for a younger audience while exploring new programming languages simultaneously
What it does
The website shows a game board, instructions in the information page, and a score. The user can click the squares until a mine (0) has been revealed. Other squares can be positive or negative, which will add or subtract from the score accordingly. A negative score will also result in game over. A win is defined as clicking all the squares except the mines (0) and maintaining a positive score.
How we built it
We used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges were that a majority of the team did not have much experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, so the team had to review a lot of documentation before writing the code.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully created a working game even though most of the team did not know HTML, CSS, and JavaScript beforehand. We also had effective communication in the team.
What we learned
We learned a lot about HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
What's next for Clicky Squares
Since the target audience for this game is children, we would like to continue working on the project and appeal to a wider audience later on. We also have some bugs to fix.
