Inspiration
Our game was inspired by Friday Night Funkin, a rhythm-based game.
What it does
Our game is a two-player arm wrestling game where both players have their own bars they have to fill, and to fill those bars, they have to match the direction of the arrows with the rhythm/pace of the arrow’s color. Match those arrows and colors, gain points, fill up the bar; whoever gets the full bar wins the arm wrestling match. Click smart and fast!
How we built it
We used the Godot Game Engine and its built-in scripting language: GDScript, to create different scenes and scripts that integrated to create a functioning system.
Challenges we ran into
Developing the UI/Visuals was challenging. Creating an engaging user experience for the players including animations, effects and art and imbuing that into our game was difficult.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Getting this project done in the time period we had, with the experience we had, is something we are proud of. The entire team is first-time hackers with very little experience with game engines and Godot/GDScript.
What we learned
How to use Godot and GDScript to create different elements for a game and integrate scenes, scripts, and a variety of nodes and functionalities to bring a game to life.
What's next for Clickety Wrestling
Incorporating a Player vs AI mode with difficulty levels Improving the UI to make the game more engaging for players, using more animations and visuals to express progress in the progress bars.
