Inspiration
I was inspired by all the platformers that I grew up playing, and the sprite sheet for the samurai that I ended up modifying.
What it does
It is a platformer where you use your mouse to do everything you normally would do in a platformer - Run, jump, attack, and charge a massive attack!
How we built it
Developing the base movement, refining each of the three modes - Attack, Jump, Run, animating the sprites, tiling the environment and programming enemy behaviors.
Challenges we ran into
The grueling nature of pulling an all nighter, plus being extremely rusty on my game dev - Many google searches and youtube videos were watched lmao.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Doing this alone and creating a somewhat decent product, animating some of my own frames for the samurai, persevering through this challenge, and coming to it in the first place!
What we learned
Shook off the rust for Unity and game dev in general, got much better at state machines, animation, and programming enemies.
What's next for Click Samurai
I would love to continue developing Click Samurai, once thing that I was envisioning since the beginning, but just didn't have time was icons at the top representing which mode the character is currently using, and where the others are in the queue. Many features can be added along with extra levels!
