Inspiration
Tiktok brainrot. We realized Gen Z learns best when content is short, funny, and scrollable—so we thought, why not apply that to textbooks and more?
What it does
Gen Z Textbook turns dry school material into fast, interactive, and actually fun lessons. Think: bite-sized info dumps, memes, quizzes, and a flashcard that speaks fluent Gen Z (no cap).
How we built it
We used HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, Flask, Gemini API, and GitHub Copilot.
Challenges we ran into
-Making sockets work with Gemini API (it did NOT want to vibe) -Syncing the UI with the backend without breaking things -Git version chaos (merge conflict = our villain origin story)
Accomplishments that we're proud of
First time using an AI API—and it actually worked! Built a working app that doesn’t look like it was coded at 3AM (even though it was) Managed to stay friends through Git conflicts
What we learned
API integration is both magical and mildly traumatic Socket stuff is... complicated Redbull doesn’t give you wings—it gives you jitters Complex UIs need clean structure (and fewer divs inside divs)
What's next for LetMeCook.tech
We’re coming back stronger. We want to build the most innovative learning platform, more subjects, better visuals, Gen Z slang mode, and maybe even AI-generated skits to explain calculus. Stay tuned 😤📚
