Inspiration In India, medical staff often spend over an hour printing, filling, and scanning health insurance claim forms. It’s slow, repetitive, and prone to errors. I wanted to fix that. My goal is to automate boring medical paperwork, starting with something as painful as insurance claims.
What it does CLERQ is a tool that generates filled insurance claim PDFs in under 25 seconds. What used to take an hour with printers and pens now happens with a single click. You just enter the details and get a ready-to-print form.
How we built it Built a backend in Python and Flask using PyMuPDF to map data onto real claim forms. The frontend is made with Vite and Tailwind. Deployed on Netlify with a custom domain. Focused on India-specific formats and workflows.
Challenges we ran into Getting exact field placements on the PDF was a huge pain. DNS crashed on launch day. Worked around broken rendering, format mismatches, CORS, and a lot of last-minute chaos.
Accomplishments that we're proud of Shipped something that actually solves a real problem. People in India can now generate insurance claim forms in 25 seconds instead of wasting an hour. And yes, it works.
What we learned Learned to work fast, fix real bugs, and keep things simple. Also learned how much paperwork eats up hospital time in India.
What's next for CLERQ Insurance claim is only the stage one. I am on a mission to automate all paperwork, or atleast the maximum, so us, humans can do something actual, meaningful. My next plan is something for teachers, in india, lesson plans is a huge pain for teachers. Clerq will fix that too, very soon :)
