Inspiration

I was inspired to build this by looking at the current state of democratic voting in the UK. The last general election had a voter turnout of only 59.7%,

What it does

ClearVote helps voters make informed decisions by showing all candidates for a general election. Users can select by constituency and see everyone who is running for MP, as well as their manifesto and pledges summarised by our AI model. We make sure to prevent hidden biases by having the option to hide the name and party of the candidates, allowing you to make a choice purely based on the facts given.

How we built it

We used lovable to do quick iterations of our front end design before exporting it and using Claude Code to flesh out the final product.

Challenges we ran into

We had difficulty in sourcing the data and making sure that it came from verified sources to ensure ethical compliance.

What's next for ClearVote

Feasibility checks – How likely are pledges in the manifesto will be met?​ Credibility Check – Score based on past community impact​ Accessibility enhancements - multilingual support and simplified reading modes.
