Inspiration

I was inspired by the increasing number of seniors who struggle to manage their healthcare information due to the complexities of the healthcare system. I believe seniors deserve an easier way to take charge of their health and view vital information.

What it does

Clearview Health is a user friendly platform that helps seniors manage their healthcare information. It offers features like easily signup/login, easy communication like a centralized hub for medical records, and easy prescription management.

How we built it

I built Clearview Health using many web technologies. I used EJS for the frontend and templating, Node.js with Express for server side logic, MongoDB in the backend with Mongoose for flexible data storage, and Bcrypt for security and encryption for sensitive information.

Challenges we ran into

One challenge I faced was balancing the need for a secure platform with a user friendly interface for seniors who may not be familiar with technology. Striking a balance between strong security and a user friendly interface for seniors with varying technical difficulties was hard to find, for example, and I had to design things like the login forms and things like that to be secure without being overly complex.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud of developing a platform that is not only secure (like with Bcrypt) but also incredibly user friendly. I'm also proud of the positive impact Clearview Health can have on seniors and others who have technical difficulty, as it will allow them to take charge of their own health more efficiently and easily :)

What we learned

I learned the importance of asynchronous programming with MongoDB to ensure a smooth user experience and also a smooth backend as well when dealing with large amounts of data. I also gained a deeper understanding of those lacking technical skills and the problems they face in the healthcare system

What's next for Clearview Health

I see Clearview Health becoming an essential tool for seniors nationwide. I'll be reaching out to health insurance companies to try and see where Clearview Health can help in their operations, such as integration into their existing platforms. This also helps the platform reach a larger audience. I'll also explore partnerships with senior centers and community organizations to share Clearview Health and its benefits.
