Inspiration
I learned about accessibility in my CSE370 class and as someone who with one we wanted to make an extension that makes the web more accessible for all people.
What it does
It is an extension that you run on google chrome and it will allow you to adjust font size, font type, text color, line/letter spacing, background color, screens for pages doing alot for epilepsy, has a screen reader with text auto highlighting. There is also a voice control that allows control throught voice commands.
How we built it
We built it using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into the problem of integrating out backend with frontend and getting the extension to implement the functionalities of the functions, and trying to get a virtual keyboard as as AI integration.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we got nearly all intended features working.
What we learned
We learned how to extensions work controls and got better at web scraping
What's next for ClearView
Next, we plan on implementing more features, such as pre made profiles for different disabilities, AI simplification to help people with learn or reading disabilities, add 100% mouse support for people with movement disabilities
