Inspiration
Students regularly receive scholarships, government schemes, school circulars, admission notices, and educational support programs that could significantly impact their future. However, these opportunities are often distributed as long PDFs, notices, and web pages filled with complex information.
The problem is not access.
The problem is understanding.
Students often struggle to determine whether they are eligible, what documents they need, when deadlines occur, and what actions they should take next. As a result, valuable opportunities are frequently ignored or missed.
We wanted to build a system that could transform confusion into clear action.
What It Does
ClearPath OS is an AI-powered Crisis-to-Action Translator.
A student can upload a document or provide an opportunity URL. The system analyzes the content and extracts important information such as:
- Eligibility requirements
- Deadlines
- Funding information
- Required documents
- Recommended actions
The information is then converted into a personalized execution workflow.
ClearPath also includes a Readiness Engine that helps students understand how prepared they are to apply by tracking required documents and application requirements.
How We Built It
ClearPath OS was built using:
- Next.js
- TypeScript
- Tailwind CSS
- Supabase
- Google Gemini
- OpenAI
- Deepgram
- Vercel
The platform combines document processing, AI-powered information extraction, readiness tracking, and workflow generation into a single student-focused experience.
Challenges We Ran Into
Building a reliable system for real-world educational documents was challenging.
Different documents have different structures, formats, and terminology. We had to handle PDF processing, URL extraction, AI reliability, validation layers, database synchronization, document storage, and error recovery.
Another challenge was ensuring that the system provided useful recommendations without making decisions on behalf of students.
What We Learned
We learned that solving educational problems requires more than building AI features.
The most important challenge was designing a system that students could trust and understand.
We also gained experience with AI orchestration, document intelligence, database design, cloud deployment, user experience design, and responsible AI principles.
Responsible AI
ClearPath follows a human-in-the-loop approach.
The system explains, organizes, and recommends.
It does not make decisions, submit applications, or replace human judgment.
Students always remain in control of final decisions and actions.
Future Plans
We plan to expand ClearPath beyond scholarships and educational notices.
Future versions could support government benefits, career opportunities, internships, skill development programs, and other support systems where people struggle to understand and act on important information.
Because support already exists.
People simply need a clearer path to reach it.
