Inspiration Teams waste hours manually entering expense receipts into Jira. We wanted to solve real finance pain for Jira users with AI.
What it does ClearLedger AI for Jira is a Forge app that scans bank receipts using AI, extracts amount, date, vendor, and category, and auto-creates a Jira task with all details.
How we built it Built entirely on Atlassian Forge. We used Forge UI Kit for the frontend, Forge Functions for backend, and integrated OpenAI GPT-4o for receipt understanding. All data stays secure in Forge Storage.
Challenges we ran into Parsing different receipt formats was hard. Handling Arabic and English receipts, blurry images, and making the Forge app fast and simple.
Accomplishments that we're proud of We built a working AI + Jira integration that saves real time for finance teams and works with any Jira project.
What learned We learned how to build powerful apps with Forge and how to combine OCR and LLMs to understand documents.
What's next for ClearLedger AI for Jira Add budget dashboards, auto-approval rules, integration with Confluence for monthly reports, and multi-currency support.
