Inspiration

Everyone hears about how many places in Africa struggle with clean water. So we decided we would try to give these developing nations cheap and effective way of getting clean, waste free water.

What it does

These moss capsules will spread the filtering moss throughout the river, to clean the waste.

How we built it

We decided to go with a Moss/Spore capsule, to give the river basin moss to reproduce on its own, and spores to naturally disperse and spread the moss down stream.

Challenges we ran into

Figuring out how to incorporate technology to the already simple and effective solution.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the project as a whole. We all worked very hard, especially on the website.

What we learned

We discovered that not just the Limpopo River Basin is suffering from these extreme pollutants. We learned that this is an ongoing untouched issue.

What's next for Cleansing the Limpopo River

If this does truly take off, this solution can be applied throughout the continent, and possibly the globe if proven it works.
