Inspiration

The project was inspired by the large amount of laundromats available in the South B area of Nairobi but with a low number of customers. Most of them provided amazing services and wished to know of any ways they could get their services known by a larger audience.

What it does

The application allows customers to make orders for clothes that they require to be cleaned, their orders are calculated and they make payments.

How we built it

The application was built with Java so it's basically for android users only.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was finding the best and convenient payment method that was accessible to a lot of users in the area.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Integrating M-PESA payment to the application was tough and to achieve that is something we are quite proud of.

What we learned

Planning is quite important in application development. This helped us move step by step and in the end we accomplished our goals.

What's next for Cleansafi

Development is underway to build a flutter version of the app that will help iOS users access the application. We are also integrating driver functionalities such that boda-boda riders benefit from the laundromats as they will be the ones to transport customer clothes to and from the business.
