Inspiration
The inspiration for this idea came out of a family idea. Our family does our annual spring cleaning, and we are all motivated to do work in our household because whoever did the most cleaning, got to decide any reward they wanted. In the end, we got much work done during the spring cleaning because we were all competitive. I decided to use that idea of competition into my website.
What it does
What my web application does is that it is a website that shows the framework of an online competitive, spring cleaning application. Although, it doesn't currently utilize a database yet, this is the front-end framework for a competitive spring cleaning website.
How we built it
I built it using HTML5.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges that I ran into was correctly utilizing Javascript. This was my first time ever using HTML5 and using Javascript, so I often ran into challenges with creating functions and deploying them into my website.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Some accomplishments that I am proud of is utilizing Javascript functions into my web applications even through the challenges with it. In addition, I am proud of creating a user sign up page and having it look aesthetically pleasing.
What we learned
I learned a lot about HTML with my project. Going into this without learning any HTML, I came out of this Hackathon knowing more about different HTML tags that I can use, how to create JavaScript Functions, and learned about different ways I can use CSS to make my website look appeasing.
What's next for Cleaning with Meaning
The next thing for Cleaning with Meaning is having it no longer be static, but having it be dynamic. I hope to use cloud databases so that I can store the points that users receive and also having a real-time database in charge of the leaderboard.
