Inspiration
My friend’s dad was a super busy man, and he tried to maintain his dental hygiene by flossing and brushing 2x a day, but wasn’t able to see the dentist as much as he should’ve. One day, I was with my friend, and his dad took a bite of an apple and his tooth came out with it. After seeing a dentist, he found out he had early stages of gum disease and had to get surgery to try and reverse the damage already caused.
What it does
image recognition for dental diseases
How we built it
Our frontend is built with Ionic and Angular, connected to the backend express server. The server is deployed using Azure. The server gets the result data sets from Google vision api.
Challenges we ran into
Working with Ionic for the very first time resulted in some challenges, integrating the image flow from app to backend also involved extra efforts from all of the team.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Using a framework for first time (Ionic) within given timeframe and actually finishing the project, well integrated and deployed within 19 hours.
What we learned
