Inspiration
Poor hygiene habits among children often lead to avoidable illnesses. Schools and parents struggle to teach proper cleanliness in a way that is fun and consistent. I wanted to create something simple, playful, and effective — a toy that teaches hygiene without feeling like a lesson. CleanBuddy was inspired by the idea that children learn best through interaction, reward, and storytelling.
What it does
CleanBuddy is a smart hygiene-teaching toy designed to help kids develop essential cleanliness habits. It uses lights, voice prompts, fun sounds, and rewards to guide children through:
Washing hands properly
Brushing teeth for the right duration
Keeping their surroundings clean
Understanding germs & hygiene in simple language
CleanBuddy turns daily hygiene routines into a fun and positive experience, encouraging kids to follow them consistently.
How we built it
CleanBuddy is designed as a concept toy combining simple interactive elements:
Touch Inputs → to trigger handwash or brushing reminders
LED Indicators → show guidance and progress
Voice Feedback → short hygiene tips, stories, and praise
Reward Points System → motivates kids to repeat clean habits
Educational Mode → explains germs in kid-friendly language
This prototype was developed through ideation, sketching, child-focused design thinking, and mapping interactions that are easy for children to follow.
