Inspiration

While researching for the tracks I looked into the existing technologies in and around the tracks and around F1 as well where i came across Computational Fluid Dynamics and use of tunnels in F1 for aerodynamic designing. Learning more about its recent cuts and environmental effects it hit me to create an engine that does it better , with the power of AI takes it to a newer dimension more sustainable cutting down on tunnel hours and wasted material cutting down on the carbon footprint and more budget efficient as well. All with the love of physics with it and zooming into F1 itself.

What it does

Using image data from the races and more synthetic data and physics principles and environment variables and analyzes the aerodynamic effects on the car. It also validates the car model and designs to the set benchmarks and suggests tweaks to design to offer more optimal designs considering the performances under these conditions. It uses 3D images/series of images of a car to extract its geometrical features and then models it in 2D to dynamically output and compute aerodynamic impacts. It can then accept changes to design and output the aerodynamic changes made by design tweaks. It can be further be used in other fields by a variety of people. With the right datasets it can be used for the development and modelling of other aerodynamic features for vehicles , ships and even in aerospace airfoil design. After training it can be made into a lightweight tool that can be used by students , designers and other people who are getting into design.

What's next for CleAeroDynamics

For the future of CleAeroDynamics we envision a model that can run simulations of designs iterating over designs under the allowed guidelines and find the most optimum design changes while keeping the design practical. It can be made an open source tool that would make the learning on designing and testing an much easier task for a wider range of people not only being limited to professionals.
