Inspiration
To become more familiar and knowledgeable about AWS technologies and cloud deployment systems.
What we did
We completed a set of AWS Jam that taught us various methods to work with the cloud and to troubleshoot real-world cloud computing issues involving resources such as S3, EC2, etc.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges were that we were unable to connect to the RDP server. We were able to overcome that challenge by restarting the task (there was a problem with the instance not running).
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we completed all 14 AWS jams.
What we learned
How to troubleshoot real-world cloud issues involving:
- S3 access control
- cross-origin resource sharing (CORS)
- EC2 networking
We gained hands-on experience with:
- Debugging HTTP errors
- Configuring security groups
- Fixing EC2 instance metadata access by correcting routing tables.
This exercise also helped me understand the importance of combining:
- Configuration
- Networking
- System-level debugging in cloud environments.
What's next for CLD-14 (Cloudathon@SJSU2026)
We are hoping to learn more about AWS and be able to build a project using these new tools
