Inspiration
Anyone who's had to sign a contract, lease or SOW without a lawyer on speed-dial knows the feeling: the document looks fine, but somewhere in there is a clause that will bite you later. We want an agent that reads the fine print for you - not replace judgement, but to protect it, by making sure the right questions get asked before you sign anything.
What it does
ClauseGuard reads a contract, flags the clauses that genuinely need a human decision (liability caps, non-standard terms, missing indemnities, etc.), summarises everything else in plain English and drafts clarifying questions you'd want to ask the other party. It never approves or rejects a clause itself - it surfaces what matters and gets out of the way.
How we built it
I built ClauseGuard using the AWS Strands Agents SDK, which lets me define the agent loop, custom tools (clause extraction, risk flagging, summarisation) and reasoning behaviour in a small amount of Python [ model used ]
