Inspiration
Students procrastinate a lot, and we have firsthand experience on that. We wanted to make something that can help people even if it is a tiny amount.
What it does
The Classroom Hero Chrome Extension allows users to set up tasks that are due at a specific date and time. The extension uses the Alarm API to create a notification when a task is due.
How we built it
We built it using JavaScript, the Chrome Extension Library, HTML, and CSS. Through a lot of collaboration, time, and effort, we successfully finished our product.
Challenges we ran into
Initially, we tried to connect the Google Classroom API to automatically notify students of assignments. However, the Classroom API doesn't work well with Chrome Extensions, and we had to scrap that idea.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully created a chrome extension which neither of us done before.
What we learned
We learned how to develop a chrome extension using Google Cloud Platform.
What's next for Classroom Hero
It would be awesome if we figured out a way to connect Google Classroom with this extension, as users will not have to manually enter their reminders.
