Inspiration: We wanted to create something that emulates the experience of online classes that we all experienced over the last two years using discord.
What it does: The bot assigns roles depending on whether you are the teacher or a student. The Teacher create polls in order to have class interaction. Questions/answer can be pinned. Deadlines can be set for assignments. Finally Breakout channels can be created.
How we built it: The bot was created using python, nextcord package, and replit. We broke down the bot into the different functionality, and eah member worked on one feature. Once a feature was completed we selected another feature to work on or help another member with any issue they were facing.
Challenges we ran into: We ran into issues when assigning roles.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: This is the first hackathon for all of the members and we have no previous experience with discord. We are proud that we were able to create a fully functioning bot in a single day without any previous experience.
What we learned: We learned about how to use all these new tools and how to come up with new idea and implement it under a short time frame.
