Inspiration
Walking through teamLab Borderless showed us how powerful immersive visuals can be. The way art moved and responded to people made us wonder—what if learning felt like that? That question inspired us to reimagine education. We wanted to bring that same sense of wonder into classrooms, using AI to turn lessons into visual experiences that keep students engaged and help them truly understand what they’re learning.
What it does
We’re creating a system that uses AI to generate visuals based on the teacher’s speech. As the teacher explains a topic, the AI listens and instantly generates visuals that bring the lesson to life. These visuals are projected all around the classroom, transforming the entire space into a new world. Students experience the lesson as if it's happening to them, keeping them engaged and helping them understand complex topics in a deeper, more memorable way.
How we built it
We used Squarespace to design and build our website, focusing on a simple and user-friendly interface. We wrote our code in Python and used PyCharm as our development environment to edit, organize, and test everything. We chose PyCharm because it’s an easier tool for managing Python code, especially for a large project like our AI assistant. After that, we worked on integrating the Python code into the website so the AI-powered visuals could connect with the lesson content.
Challenges we ran into
One of the primary challenges we encountered was integrating the code into the website, as well as identifying a suitable website builder that met our requirements.
Accomplishments that we’re proud of
We made learning experiences exciting again Instead of students zoning out in class, we created a system that pulls them into the lesson and keeps them aware and motivated.
We developed a clear vision
We started with a question: “what if classrooms could come alive as the teacher speaks?” Turning that into a well-thought-out concept with purpose and structure is something we are really proud of.
We brought creativity and practicality together Designing an immersive classroom experience forced us to think like engineers, educators, and artists all at once.
We mapped out how this could actually work in a real setting, even if it’s not built yet.
We connected technology with education in a meaningful way
We found out a way to apply AI to a real educational challenge keeping students engaged and helping them understand complex topics through visuals
We created something that could inspire change Even though it's still a concept this project sparks a conversation about the future of learning.
What we learned
Good ideas take shape through exploration At the start, it was just a rough thought. Through research, testing ideas on paper, and getting feedback, we learned how to shape an idea into something with real potential.
Tech is only as strong as the problem it solves We realised that the best use of AI isn't about flash it's about solving a real issue. The mindset helped us stay focused on the “why” behind our project
Immersive experiences require thoughtful design It's not just throwing visuals onto a wall. We learned that to make learning immersive, every detail has to be intentional
Collaboration makes everything better Working as a team helped us think bigger and catch things we’d never notice alone. Everyone brought something unique to the table, and the project is better because of it.
What’s next for Classroom Alive
Next, we plan to improve how the AI understands and responds to different subjects by training it with more educational content. We also want to make the system easier for teachers to use, so they can set it up without needing technical skills. In the future, we hope to test it in real classrooms and keep developing it based on feedback from students and teachers.
