Inspiration
As students ourselves, we’ve experienced firsthand how remote education often falls short in fostering genuine interaction, engagement, and communication. We saw that many existing platforms treat learning as a one-way broadcast, lacking the human touch that makes education meaningful. This inspired us to design a solution that reimagines online learning as a more connected, responsive, and supportive experience for everyone involved.
Our project focuses on bridging the gap between teachers, students, and parents through interactive tools like live quizzes with instant analytics, integrated video conferencing for face-to-face rapport, and auto-generated weekly progress summaries for parents. We believe that learning should never feel isolating, and with the right tools, it doesn’t have to.
What it does
Our website works just like any other online learning platform used for school, but with additional features such as video conferencing for face-to-face rapport, auto-generated weekly progress summaries for parents, and a feedback page for teachers to improve their teaching according to their students' needs.
How we built it
Used Firebase and React.
Challenges we ran into
Being the first hackathon we've participated in, and since none of us had experience with web development, it was difficult to pick up something new. Nevertheless, we still tried our best with the few days we had to complete it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We learnt more about web development, which we hope to build upon in the future.
What we learned
Learnt some elements of full-stack development. Additionally, we learnt how to work under time constraints, and improved our skills in branching, committing, merging and resolving conflicts in a shared codebase.
What's next for ClassLink
With no more time constraints, we aim to continue working on our project and complete it.
