Inspiration

As AI-generated content floods the internet, people crave authentic human connection and shared cultural experiences. Live classical performances — orchestra, opera, chamber, ballet — provide this, yet event information is fragmented and the experience often feels intimidating. With a $3B gap in unmet potential, our goal is to build a platform that connects audiences, large ensembles, and individual musicians in one place.

What it does

Classical Music Connect is a one-stop platform that enhances classical concerts with seamless ticketing and educational micro-lessons. Audiences receive beginner-friendly notes and engaging badges, musicians can instantly post recitals with professional visibility, and institutions gain new reach and engagement data far beyond ticket sales.

How we built it

We developed a clean UI for mobile, with several features tailored to lovers of classical music. Using primarily React on the frontend and python on the backend, we've tried to build a program that is flexible and works well on both iOS and Android.

Challenges we ran into

  • Balancing depth of information with simplicity.
  • Designing a quality search system with adaptable UI.
  • Ensuring that each feature is actually valuable to the user.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Creating a platform that lowers the barrier to enjoying classical music.
  • Building a bridge between local artists and patrons.
  • Getting it to work.

What we learned

  • Cool features don't equal quality user experience.
  • Classical music becomes more enjoyable when paired with context and authenticity.
  • Event handlers are difficult to implement if you don't have front end experience.

What's next for Classical Music Connect

  • Establishing partnerships with local artists.
  • Adding more interactive lessons and quizzes.
  • Expanding to cover more cities.
