Inspiration

For my project, Classic Hunt, I drew inspiration from the fond memories of my childhood spent playing Duck Hunt on my 64-bit cartridge console. I wanted to recreate the nostalgia of this classic old game that i played in my childhood and wanted to give the next generation a classic game.

What it does

you play as a hunter trying to score 2 beautiful ducks with limited ammo with your trusty friend "Drooby" as they try to flee the dangerous area

How we built it

I used pygame module with python3 and vscode and its extensions as development tools.

Challenges we ran into

Building the project was not without its challenges. As I worked with new modules and set up the framework, I faced difficulties in finding suitable assets for the game. Nonetheless, I persevered, and the end result was a fun and challenging game that brought back the nostalgia of the classic game.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the fact that Classic Hunt successfully revives the nostalgia and fun of the original Duck Hunt game while adding a modern touch through the use of the pygame module. The game offers a challenging and addictive gameplay experience, with its classic pixelated graphics and the iconic NES controller. Overall, we believe that Classic Hunt is a great tribute to the classic game that many of us grew up with, and we are proud to have created a game that offers a fun and engaging experience for players of all ages.

What we learned

As I developed the game using the pygame module of Python, I learned that the game development community is incredibly supportive and always open to new ideas and helping the community members. However, building the project was not without its challenges. As I worked with new modules and set up the framework, I faced difficulties in finding suitable assets for the game.

What's next for Classic Hunt

There can be different scenes for the background to showcase different places and seasons. difficulty and types of birds can be changed on the places and scenarios level-based difficulty and unlocking of levels based on the score
