ClassGuard is a real-time digital classroom assessment and monitoring platform designed to help teachers conduct online or computer-based tests in a more controlled and organized environment. The project addresses a common challenge in digital assessments: teachers cannot continuously monitor every student's activity when multiple students are taking a test on their own devices. ClassGuard allows teachers to securely create and manage tests, add text-based or image-based questions, and share a unique join code with students. Students can join the assessment using the provided code and their name, while the teacher controls the test session and decides when the examination begins or ends.

The key feature of ClassGuard is its real-time activity monitoring system. During an active test, the application can detect browser-level events such as tab switching, page visibility changes, and fullscreen exits, as well as track the amount of time a student spends away from the assessment page. These activities are recorded as monitoring events and displayed to the teacher in real time, allowing the teacher to observe unusual or suspicious behavior during the examination. The system does not claim to determine whether a student has cheated; instead, it provides useful activity data and indicators that help the teacher make informed decisions. Teachers can monitor participating students, observe activity events, manage the test session, remove students when necessary, and review student activity after the test.

ClassGuard is built using React and Vite for the frontend and Tailwind CSS for the user interface. Supabase is used as the backend infrastructure for authentication, database management, file storage, and real-time communication. Supabase Realtime enables monitoring events and test updates to be reflected instantly on the teacher's dashboard without requiring manual page refreshes. The project also uses Row Level Security (RLS) to protect database access and ensure that users can only access authorized data. By combining real-time communication, browser APIs, authentication, database security, and an intuitive teacher-student workflow, ClassGuard demonstrates a practical solution for modern digital classroom assessments and real-time test supervision.
