Inspiration

We were inspired by our own experiences with learning language apps and the lack of spontaneity that came with it. (How many times have we all lost our Duolingo streak?? Too many to count.) So, we wanted to create a tool that would motivate users to learn together and have fun.

What is ClassGround?

ClassGround is a language learning app that combines Duolingo and Quizlet, as well as our own twists, to bring engaging learning into the classroom and at home. It includes interactive flashcards, randomized daily games, and community games to spark friendly competition and motivate students to learn.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest challenges was being intentional with our design and our time. We often came up with new features and ideas to implement into ClassGround, but it wasn't essential to our core idea. We made sure everything we created was clearly tied back to our goal to ensure our product aligned closely with our mission.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This was our first designation ever attended and hopefully not our last! We are amazed by the work completed over the weekend and we're proud of our user experience design.

What we learned

We learned a lot about budgeting time, not only for the project but also for ourselves. This experience taught us how to approach a design sprint while giving ourselves moments to rest and recharge, so we could create the best designs possible in the given time.

What's next for ClassGround

Moving forward, we plan to expand ClassGround to include other subject areas such as Math and Science to make learning more enjoyable and engaging for everyone.
