Inspiration

 In the era of developed social networks, people are constantly pursuing fresh, fun and exciting things. In order to respond to the trend, brand marketing is no longer simply to provide products or services, but to create diversified marketing strategies to make consumers better. Experience and goodwill, this is the usage of the concept of Gamification.

What is Gamification marketing? The term gamification does not refer to real games, but integrates interesting elements and mechanisms in the game into existed fields. Many companies use "gamification" in their marketing strategies, focus on consumers, integrate fun and meaningful elements into the Internet, social media and daily operations, and try to establish useful interactions with consumers and increase consumers and brands' satisfaction.

What it does

Increasing the participation, interaction, intimacy and influence of KOLs to fans through Facebook gamification.

How we built it

  1. First of all, we have to find a fanspage with enough audiences.

  2. Then we have to ask the owner of this fanpage to grant our Facebook App with required permissions in order to get the access token of Facebook page.

  3. The Graph API is our first challenge, We have to process a lot of data fetching from Facebook Graph API and try to solve the rate limit of Open Graph API issue due to most KOLs have very large audiences.

  4. We build a Facebook Messenger Chatbot to support this project and deploy it on GCP platform

Challenges we ran into

  1. Facebook doesn't provide services for computing active users. Which person has the most likes? Which person has the most Comments? We have to define and count it by ourselves.

  2. integrate the game idea with Facebook messenger and webpage platform.

What we learned

  1. We get more knowledge about the structure of FanPage and its insight data.

  2. We create a more meaningful way to turn these raw data into the more tighten hook between LOKs and their audiences.

  3. We know how to build a Facebook Messenger Chatbot and how to leverage it to connect KOLs and their audiences more seamless.
