Inspiration
Students are constantly losing their precious belongings and struggling to retrieve them, whether it be something like a jacket or their notebook full of their hard work. We want to provide a way for those hardships to be avoided as much as possible.
What it does
ClarkFind allows students to be able to find their lost items with ease through a usable map that will update whenever a lost item is added through the Lost Item Page. People can also request their lost items that will post a thread post that allows them to input their information so if someone finds the item they can reach out to the individual.
How we built it
Through Roblox studio we were able to seamlessly collaborate together on both the front and back end. On the backend we utilized VSCode and Lua as our language with Rojo to be the live syncing bridge between VsCode and RobloxStudio.
Challenges we ran into
Our biggest challenge was Roblox going down 11 times in a single day, not allowing us to be able to work for 10 minutes at a time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re especially proud of our seamless transitions through each page of our website and our usable map that allows users to look at what items were reported in each building along with a search bar that allows items to be searched throughout each building and if the item is found it will highlight the location it is in.
What we learned
We learned how to keep cool under the stress of our application constantly going down and how to always be there for each other, teaching one another so each member could maximize their contributions to the project
What's next for ClarkFind
Our next step for ClarkFind would be to expand it across campus, allowing the website to recognize every building.
