We were inspired by how confusing genetic test reports are for patients. When we looked at real genomic data, we realized that most reports are written for scientists, not for the people whose health is affected. We wanted to create something that makes this information easier to understand and more accessible. ClarityDNA is a genomic dashboard that simplifies complicated genetic data into easy information that patients can read. It separates the results into high, moderate, and low risk categories, allows users to search and filter their data, and provides simple explanations of what data means and steps they can do next. We built it using python in Spyder and Streamlit. Our biggest challenge was trying to upload the huge data file but we worked around it and did what we had to do to make it fit. We are happy that we made something that can be useful to patients and learned a lot of designing interactive dashboards.
