Inspiration

With the rise of harmful digital habits and low-quality content, our team wanted to address the growing issue of “brainrot,” where constant engagement with online content can lead to unhealthy behaviors. Many people are not always aware of when they are becoming digitally overstimulated or desensitized. Clarity was created to help identify the subtle patterns in online behavior that may signal when someone is over-engaging with harmful or low-value digital content. Our goal was to design a tool that helps users better understand their habits and become more mindful of how they interact with the internet.

What it does

Clarity if both a self-regulating and a self-analysis app for your internet activity. Take care of your very own "neuro", a reflection of your inner self, by practicing good habits of moderation, as well as getting state-of-the-art analysis on your own habits through options to monitor your digital activity, heart rate, and more!

How we built it

The four of us built our high-fidelity prototype using Figma.

Challenges we ran into

The four of us live very far distances away, across different time zones. Unable to meet in person, we needed to coordinate precisely to ensure that we could all get up to speed on the same page, as well as work efficiently!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

WE are proud to have worked on such a creative project together!

What we learned

We learned to work as a team across long distances. For some of us, it was our first hackathon, and for others, it was our first deep dive into UX. Using our backgrounds to create the best product we could was an experience!

What's next for Clarity

We hope Clarity will provide a good blueprint for the future of self-moderation and solutions for the possible harms that may come with engaging in harmful digital content.
