Inspiration We wanted to create a tool that goes beyond basic Q&A—a tutor that explains concepts clearly, adapts to each learner’s needs, and makes studying less overwhelming. Inspired by the struggles students face with confusing textbooks, late-night doubts, and lack of personalized help, we built Clarify.AI to make understanding easier and learning feel more human.

What it does Clarify.AI is an intelligent tutor that helps students learn better by breaking down complex topics into simple, digestible explanations. With a modern chat interface, AI-generated responses, inspirational quotes, voice input, and a comforting UI, Clarify.AI acts like a helpful study companion—always available to explain, guide, and encourage.

How we built it We built Clarify.AI using:

Flask for the backend API

OpenRouter with Qwen 30B for generating high-quality responses

HTML/CSS/JavaScript for the front-end UI

Typewriter effects, fade-in animations, and subtle transitions for a smooth, motivating user experience

Voice input using browser APIs for hands-free interaction

The project is lightweight, responsive, and designed with students in mind.

Challenges we ran into Designing a UI that feels both modern and calming without being distracting

Integrating the voice input smoothly into the browser while ensuring accessibility

Handling real-time message effects like typewriter animations without causing delays

Ensuring the AI responses were context-aware and consistently helpful
