clarifood

Have you ever seen someone on the streets and really wanted to know what they were eating? Have you ever seen a picture on Instagram and thought "Wow, I really want to eat that"? Give the picture to clarifood, and you can find restaurants near you that serve the food you want. clarifood is a revolutionary food app that uses a ground-breaking visual recognition API from Clarifai and combines it with the Google Places API to bring you to all those delicious-looking foods.

Using clarfood is easy. All you have to do is input the URL of a picture of your choice. Click "Go!" and in a few seconds, your mysterious (but delicious-looking) food item will be identified and you'll have a list of nearby restaurants where you can go get your food.

Our next steps are to allow image uploads, map restaurants out for users, and incorporate user feedback on the accuracy of our identifications in order to provide better results in the future. We also plan to expand to a mobile app, which will allow users to use their camera, take a picture, and get instant feedback.

Why do we need clarifood? Well, if you look at the new generation and the direction we are heading in, the Creative Cloud--I mean, clarifood is the future; it has all the tools. Don't me about antiquated tools. I want to tell you about the future.

herokuapp is back up.... except it's completely hard-coded for example's sake. the clarifai calls end up causing a timeout which crashes the app. at the moment, the app will always assume you want bubble tea, and give you the same five locations to find some.
