Inspiration
After a fire, flood or theft, insurers ask for proof of what you owned and what it cost. Few households keep a home inventory, yet the proof is often already on the NAS: phone photos of rooms and gadgets, photographed receipts, screenshots of online orders, PDF invoices and warranty cards.
What it does
ClaimReady is a UGREEN AI NAS Skill that turns that evidence into a home inventory:
- one row per durable item, with the room, brand and model when legible, purchase date, price, merchant, and warranty end when a document states it;
- a link to the photo that shows each item and to the document that proves its purchase, labelled strong, medium or candidate;
- a SHA-256 fingerprint of every evidence file, so the user can show later that the evidence has not changed;
- a list of gaps: items without proof, purchases without a photo, and files that could not be read.
In claim mode it selects the items in the rooms affected by a loss, quotes the notification deadline and deductible from the policy document the user names, and prepares a claim pack.
How it was built
The Skill is a parent orchestration document written to the Uliya Skill Development Standard with the official skill kit 0.7.3. Every NAS operation is delegated to a registered expert:
- photo-agent finds receipt photos by their OCR text and order screenshots, reads capture times, runs OCR, and lists belongings in room photos with the vision model;
- file-agent resolves the scope, finds purchase documents and records SHA-256 fingerprints;
- document-agent extracts purchase records with the receipt, invoice and purchase-order schemas and answers questions about the policy;
- knowledge-agent saves the report and the claim pack.
Scans are read-only. Saving, copying and tagging wait for platform approval, and nothing is moved, overwritten or deleted. The package passes the kit's static checker with no errors or warnings.
The Skill text, its references and this page were drafted with Claude (Anthropic) through Claude Code, which also ran the kit's static checker.
Challenges
Matching is the hard part: a photo may show a television while its receipt lists only a product code. The Skill uses explicit rules (a serial or model match, brand plus a consistent date, category-only candidates that the user confirms) and never fills in a price, date or model that the evidence does not state.
What's next
Round 1 has no NAS access, so nothing has run on a NAS yet. For the finalist testing day the plan is a synthetic household set with an answer key, a claim for a kitchen water leak, and an edge case with a blurred and a duplicate receipt.
