Inspiration
Have you ever landed after a grueling 24-hour international flight, only to find your checked bag battered and bruised? Frustrated and weary, the last thing you want to deal with is mountains of paperwork. This all-too-common scenario sparked the creation of ClaimJet.
What it does
ClaimJet is your travel companion in distress, a user-friendly chatbot app designed to streamline the baggage claim process. Forget about paper forms and endless phone calls. ClaimJet chats with you conversationally, gathering all the necessary details: your information, flight specifics, and the unfortunate fate of your luggage. ClaimJet then effortlessly submits your claim directly to the airline on your behalf.
How we built it
The solution needed to be intuitive and accessible. By leveraging the power of large language models (LLMs) and an easy-to-use chatbot interface, I created a platform that guides users through the claim process with ease. ClaimJet seamlessly gathers all the necessary information from the traveler and formats it into key-value pairs, making it easier to integrate with airline systems and ensuring efficient claim submission.
Challenges we ran into
Simplifying a complex process like airline claim submission presented its own challenges. Striking the right balance between comprehensiveness and user-friendliness was crucial. I encountered difficulty summarizing the information collected in the traveler details, flight details, and baggage details sections while maintaining accuracy. This was likely due to limitations in the context window.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am thrilled to offer travelers a solution that eliminates the stress and hassle of damaged luggage claims. ClaimJet empowers users to reclaim their travel peace of mind, allowing them to focus on enjoying their adventures, not dealing with paperwork.
What we learned
Developing ClaimJet highlighted the importance of user-centric design. The user-friendly chatbot interface makes it extremely easy to build LLM-powered apps. All you need is a great app idea, and then it's just like putting Lego blocks together.
What's next for ClaimJet: Hassle-Free Claims
If the app had the ability to input images, I would like to allow users to point their camera at their ID, e-ticket, and baggage to collect and populate the traveler information section. This would make the entire baggage claim process keyboard-free.
