The rising cases of insurance fraud and the inefficiencies in manual claim verification inspired us to develop ClaimGuardAI. We wanted to create an AI-powered solution that ensures fast, accurate, and unbiased fraud detection while improving the claim processing experience for genuine policyholders. But that’s not all—building multimodal AI agents is complex, and we took this challenge head-on with a bit of humor. After all, if AI can detect fraud, why can’t it also make the process a little more engaging?

What it does

ClaimGuardAI is like a detective that never sleeps—except it runs on AI instead of coffee! Using multimodal Agent AI, it scrutinizes images, documents, videos, and even speech to sniff out fraud like a hound on a mission. Whether it’s a magically “disappearing” car dent in a photo or a suspiciously shaky voice in a claim call, ClaimGuardAI catches the red flags before insurers even blink. And unlike human investigators, it never gets tired, bored, or distracted by cat videos—though we can’t promise it won’t analyze those too!

How "I" built it

It took me three hours just to fully grasp the problem—while hunger attacked from one side and imposter syndrome kicked in from the other. It was messy, chaotic, and borderline existential. I tested multiple LLMs, only to realize some just couldn’t handle certain data types. Just when I was about to reroute my Streamlit setup into a metaphorical ditch, my mom (aka Gemini—yes, her sun sign AND Google’s AI) showed up at midnight, bringing both moral support and divine intervention.

Challenges "I" ran into

Ask what didn’t go wrong—everything, everything failed at first! So, I started from scratch, building a single agent, then two. Text and document processing? Easy. But then came speech—trickier, but manageable. And don’t even ask about video. My Google API got so mad at me for poking Vertex AI too hard that my command line turned red in fury. And this? Just 30% of the struggle! Multimodal AI? It hallucinates more than a sleep-deprived coder running on energy drinks and hope. But hey, it was fun, it was tough, and it was all on me—one person, one mission, and a whole lot of AI-induced chaos.

Accomplishments that "I" proud of
