Inspiration
Navigating dense corporate policies and workplace regulations is often tedious and prone to misinterpretation. We wanted to build an intuitive, AI-powered tool that allows organizations and employees to simulate policy outcomes, evaluate compliance scenarios, and understand the downstream impacts of institutional rules in real time.
What it does
CivitasX is an interactive policy simulation platform. Users can upload workplace policies, corporate handbooks, or compliance documents (PDFs), ask complex situational questions, and simulate potential organizational scenarios. Powered by the Gemini API, it breaks down dense regulatory language into actionable insights, risk assessments, and step-by-step impact analyses.
How we built it
- Frontend & UI: Built an interactive dashboard using Streamlit with custom state handling to ensure seamless document interaction.
- Backend & Logic: Implemented Python scripts to handle document parsing and structure prompt flows.
- AI Integration: Integrated Google Gemini API for deep semantic understanding, multi-turn document reasoning, and policy impact simulation.
Challenges we faced
- Handling long-form document context without losing critical nuances during multi-turn simulation prompts.
- Managing Streamlit session state persistence to prevent reload bugs during continuous querying and large PDF uploads.

- Successfully creating a functional end-to-end prototype that reliably extracts actionable simulations from complex policy PDFs.
- Crafting a clean, intuitive interface that makes regulatory analysis accessible to non-technical users.
