Inspiration
As shops closed, movement is restricted and everyone is forced to go online. Yet small retailers and brick and mortar shops don't have the ability or speed to be able to open an online store and manage it. Over 80% of purchases still happen over the phone or walk-ins. At the same time consumers are getting online payment cards much faster as banks and wallets grow. We want to bridge this gap by enabling any store to accept online payments without opening a webshop.
What it does
Take order on the phone, send a payment link through sms or social messaging channels, get paid and deliver. Merchants have a simple app, KYC is done remotely, and settlement is also digital.
How we built it
It is fully app based solution that has a simple interface. Once the account is issued to the merchant, they just need the customer phone number to issue payment requests and get paid.
Challenges we ran into
KYC is still manual because of the regulations, and many of the complications around getting the payment license area hiccup. Eventually the prices will also be the factors that determines how we could grow.
