Inspiration

Inspiration

We realized our neighborhoods are more disconnected than ever. Community news lives in 5 different WhatsApp groups, local business deals get lost on Facebook, and potholes never get reported. We wanted to bring the neighborhood back to the living room — the Fire TV is the biggest screen in the house.

NEW UPDATE - Mining & Community Impact Tracker: Living in Polokwane, Limpopo, I see how small mining contractors scale to create 1000+ jobs, but communities have no transparent way to track employment, environmental rehab, or complaints like dust and road damage. Inspired by this real gap, I added a mining operations dashboard.

What it does

  • Fire TV Neighborhood Hub: RSVP to events, volunteer, track street fixes live
  • NEW - Mining Tracker: Track 5 mining operations (demo data), jobs created, local hiring %, rehab compliance scores
  • Community Voice: Report dust, water, road issues with status tracking
  • Fleet & Operations transparency
  • Local business support

Note: All mining company data is fictional demo data inspired by real Limpopo growth patterns.

How we built it

Built with Bolt.new, React, Tailwind, hosted on Vercel. Link: https://civicpulse-mining-tr-5iw7.bolt.host

Challenges

Making data civic-friendly for Fire TV big screen and adding realistic demo data.

What's next

Partner with local municipalities and mining communities for real data integration.
