What it does

CivicGrid National Portal is a community-focused website designed to make household location information and emergency support details easier to access.

The project aims to help people find household records through unique House IDs and access important emergency contacts, such as ambulance, police, and fire services. It is designed around the needs of local communities, starting with a prototype for Dangerpora, Jammu and Kashmir, India.

How I built it

I developed the website as a student project to explore how web technology can solve real community problems. I worked on the website interface, household search concept, information display, and emergency support features.

My goal is to build a simple, accessible, and user-friendly platform that can work on both mobile phones and computers.

Challenges I ran into

One of the main challenges was turning a real-world community problem into a practical website idea. I also had to learn about website development, organizing household information, designing a clear interface, and planning how location and emergency information could be managed safely.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am proud to have developed and published a working website prototype as a school student. This project has helped me connect my interest in technology with a practical community need.

I am also proud to be learning web development through a project that I hope to improve over time.

What I learned

Through CivicGrid, I have learned more about website design, problem-solving, project planning, and the importance of making digital services easy to use. I have also learned that personal information must be protected through consent, secure access, and responsible data management.

What's next for CivicGrid National Portal

My next goal is to improve the website, develop secure authentication, connect a suitable database, improve household search, and integrate accurate location mapping and emergency contact information.

In the future, I hope to explore whether this concept could help more communities through collaboration with local authorities and other relevant organizations.
