Inspiration

We felt the urge to close the gap between people in Gainesville and the people who run the city so that reporting problems would become easy and clear.

What it does

CivicConnect QuickFix is a platform that lets residents in Gainesville report problems with roads, parks and other local things quickly and then see the progress of each report, in real time.

How we built it

We built a website that works well on phones and computers keeping it easy for everyone to use. We used the web tools and a tidy database to make logging and handling problems fast.

Challenges we ran into

The challenge was making one system that could manage many different types of complaints while still keeping the screen simple and quick

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’ve created a simple, rapid platform that connects people directly to city maintenance teams.

What we learned

We learned that civic technology can really bring people together and make city maintenance smoother and more efficient.

What's next for CivicConnect QuickFix

We will continue pilot testing with local community leaders, add automated notification systems, and scale the platform to support more neighborhoods.
