Inspiration

Cities grow fast, but public issue reporting is still slow and inefficient. People often don’t know where to complain, and authorities lack real-time data. We wanted to bridge this gap and empower citizens to make their voices heard easily.

What it does

Civic-Bridge is a smart platform that allows citizens to report public issues like potholes, garbage, or water leaks with location and details. Authorities can track, manage, and resolve these issues efficiently through a centralized system.

How we built it

We built Civic-Bridge using Python with Flask for the backend and HTML/CSS for the frontend. SQLite is used for storing user and issue data. The system includes user authentication, issue reporting, and a dashboard to monitor complaints.

Challenges we ran into

We faced challenges in designing a simple yet effective user interface and managing database operations smoothly. Handling multiple user inputs and ensuring proper data flow between frontend and backend was also tricky.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully built a working system that allows real-time issue reporting and tracking. The platform is simple, functional, and solves a real-world problem, making it useful for both citizens and authorities.

What we learned

We learned how to build a full-stack web application using Flask, manage databases, and handle user authentication. We also improved our problem-solving and teamwork skills during development.

What's next for Civic-Bridge

We plan to add features like live location tracking, image upload, AI-based issue detection, and a mobile app version. We also aim to integrate it with government systems for real-world implementation.
