Inspiration

CityzenApp V.Covid (SaaS) based on CityzenApp smart city platform, which is an award winning citizen engagement platform, with proven track record in municipality authorities in Greece. With “CityzenApp V.Covid”, we aim to provide a useful tool for local Authorities and volunteer networks in order to connect them with vulnerable people and support their needs. Also CityzenApp V.Covid acts as direct information channel with local/central government.

What it does

CityzenApp V.Covid offered with SaaS model CityzenApp V.Covid consists of: 1) Mobile Application (Android and Ios) and web application for the citizens 2) Web application for the personnel of local government or volunteers 3) Web application for call center personnel (citizens call a dedicated hotline number) 3) Mobile Application (Android and Ios) for the personnel of local government or volunteers, that works on the field (no more paper work. We digitize all the process) It is multi language ready (both for the mobile applications and the backend) No more paper work. We digitize all the process, from submission need requests, handling, dispatching and reporting.

Features: 1) Local Authority creates a registry of vulnerable peoples 2) Requests for needs (e.g.: medicine, super market, bank, psychological support):

  • Vulnerable people submit their needs requests through Mobile App, Web, or by calling a call center (dedicated hotline number).
  • Requests are rooted to the appropriate person/s, that create the “work orders” for the external staff
  • External staff uses the mobile application in order to have direct access to work order and all the relevant information (what to do, vulnerable people address and other info). Also, as soon as the mark a work order as “complete” the app informs the central database.
  • we provide dashboards and reports 3) Request for certificates from local authorities 4) News feeds for Covid-19 from trusted local and/or General Government Authorities 5) Direct communication through Push notifications from local Government 6) Useful phones catalog (Hospitals, Pharmacies, Police, Banks, etc) 7) Pharmacies on duty 8) Hospitals of duty 9) Civil Protection information 10) Questionnaires

How we built it

CityzenApp V.Covid (SaaS) based on CityzenApp smart city platform (http://www.cityzenapp.gr/en ), which is an award winning citizen engagement platform. We used Angular, ionic framework, php, javascript, PostgreSQL in order to build it.

Challenges we ran into

We want to scale up the project for other countries, so we are looking for:

  • Local partners in countries abroad Greece.
  • Contacts with European and National institutions and Local Authorities For the next period we want to prepare all the necessary marketing material (digital and no-digital).

Accomplishments that we are proud of

CityzenApp V.Covid, already support a dozen of municipality authorities in Greece and thousands of citizens. It is very easy to use. It takes less than 3 days for a local authority to start use it.

What we learned

We learned that when offer a solution that aims to help general public, it has to be very simple to use, to cover real needs and the end user το have real benefit by using the solution. Not more nice tech buzzwords.

What's next for CityzenApp V.Covid

CityzenApp V.Covid is a ready to use solution. We want to add more Municipality Authorities in Greece to our portfolio. Also, we want to scale up the project for other countries
