Inspiration

Every day, millions of people struggle to find reliable local information. Job opportunities, internships, scholarships, government services, businesses, community events, and emergency updates are often scattered across websites, social media pages, messaging groups, and word of mouth. This fragmentation makes it difficult for people to discover opportunities that could improve their lives.

CityOS was inspired by a simple question:

What if every city had an intelligent AI assistant that could understand natural language, discover local opportunities, and help people take action immediately?

Our goal was to build more than a search engine—we wanted to create an AI-powered operating system that connects citizens with opportunities, services, and resources through one intelligent interface.

What it does

CityOS is an AI-powered city assistant that helps citizens discover opportunities, services, businesses, and community information around them in real-time through a single intelligent interface.

Instead of navigating multiple websites or searching through countless social media posts, users simply ask questions in natural language, such as:

  • "What opportunities are available this week?"
  • "Find AI internships near me."
  • "What community events are happening today?"
  • "Show me scholarships I can apply for."

CityOS understands the user's intent and returns organized, relevant, and personalized results in seconds.

One of CityOS's most impactful features is its AI Career Assistant. After discovering a job, internship, or scholarship, users can automatically generate a professional CV and a tailored cover letter that match the selected opportunity. This helps applicants create stronger applications in minutes and increases their chances of securing opportunities.

Challenges We Faced

One of the biggest challenges was designing an AI experience that feels natural while still providing accurate and relevant information.

Another challenge involved organizing multiple categories of city information, including jobs, internships, scholarships, businesses, government services, and community events into a unified system that users could search effortlessly.

Building the AI-powered career assistant also required carefully designing prompts capable of generating professional CVs and personalized cover letters suitable for different types of opportunities.

Finally, balancing performance, scalability, and user experience while integrating AI into a modern web application required continuous refinement throughout development.

What We Learned

Building CityOS reinforced an important lesson:
