Inspiration and What it does

Inspired by the way Batman locates crime, the app transports user to the top of nearby skyscraper for a perfect vantage point. Using user-contributed location tracking data, popular night activities are overlaid onto the world as a color coded heatmap. Provides a method for discovering and viewing 360 degree photo spheres.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to produce a scene allowing movement between an aerial viewpoint and street-level 360 view. We implemented buttons within the VR world for filtering different types of location overlays.

What's next for City HotSpot

After beginning collection of photospheres from users and partner venues, integration of external data sources would be needed to enhance the information content included on the overlay.
