Inspiration

I wanted to optimize my Tokyo trip and maximize the experience.

What it does

Generates a personalized itinerary in English and users' preferred language. Specifically designed for bilinguals, proficient in English but desiring native-language itineraries.

How we built it

Implemented 4 input areas to gather user preferences: basic info, interests, places to visit, travel style, and language preference.

Tell "Itinerary" to generate a detailed plan based on the inputs, including transportation details, tips, and things good to know.

Tell "Translated Itinerary" to translate into preferred language and organize each day's content into distinct paragraphs for clarity.

Tell "Chat" to act as an experienced travel planner, answering questions based on "Itinerary".

Challenges

1. The itinerary serves as a solid blueprint but envisions a smarter version with a dedicated language model.
2. Faced difficulty in maintaining the format of the translated text, especially handling different dates.

Accomplishments that we're proud of:

Crafted a tailored itinerary blueprint, offering a sense of security to travelers in a foreign land through native language access.

What we learned

AI's increasing accessibility enhances daily life, boosting efficiency and creating wonders for ordinary individuals.

What's next for City Explorer for Bilinguals

As a UX designer, I'm inspired and am developing a dedicated app leveraging AI to simplify and smarten trip planning and execution.
